Throughout the 20th century, Philips continued to create innovative and life- changing equipment for both the healthcare and the consumer markets, and the company’s breakthroughs included the invention of the tape cassette. Philips also helped to mass produce the VCR, and in recent years launched a musical revolution with the Compact Disc.
