Buying a Digital Media Player from Apple

You can buy Apple products from a range of stores both online and on the high street, but Apple also has its own online store.

The Apple Store only stocks Apple’s own products, which include the full range of iPods, including the Nano and Shuffle. The website also enables you to access to the iTunes shop, where you can buy and download tracks from all your favourite artists.

Ordering iPods from the Apple Store: Delivery Times and Postage Costs

  • Apple offers free delivery on all UK orders over £65.99 excluding VAT, but many of Apple’s iPods come with free shipping.
  • The Apple Store will only deliver to the mainland UK, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man.
  • For delivery outside of these areas, refer to the Apple customer service page, which will give you the link to the appropriate website for your country. Apple has over 20 stores worldwide, and can deliver your iPod almost anywhere.
  • Delivery time is dependent upon the contents of your order. If you are ordering a computer or an iPod with an engraving, it will take longer to process, build and deliver your product than if you order an item that is held in stock.
  • Most small items are kept in stock and will be shipped within 24 hours of the order being placed.
  • Delivery will take place within standard working hours, from Monday to Friday.
  • The shipping cost for small iPods will be approximately £4.50 unless your order qualifies for free delivery.
  • All orders must be signed for on delivery, and you can ask Apple to deliver your iPod to a work or home address.

Ordering iPods from the Apple Store: Refunds and Returns Policy

  • If the item is visibly faulty on delivery, you are asked to make a note of the damages on the delivery docket and keep all of the packaging in the condition that it was in when you received it.
  • From here, you are asked to contact customer services with the web ordering number and a description of the item and damage. Apple will then advise you of the course of action to be taken.
  • You may cancel your order before or after delivery. If the order status is “Processing” or “Sent to Manufacturing”, then you may cancel online, otherwise you will have to wait until the item arrives before you can begin the cancellation process.
  • The Apple warranty comes as standard with all purchases, but you can also extend the warranty by up to two years for a small cost, giving you added peace of mind.
  • Every iPod comes with single-incident phone support for 90 days and one year of hardware service coverage.
